Zero position compensation for steering angle sender -G85

Display group number 060: Zero position compensation for steering angle sender -G85

  • ‒ Start engine.
  • ‒ Perform brief test drive on a flat surface. Drive in a straight line at not more than 20 km/h, paying attention to the following two items.
  • ‒ If steering wheel is not straight during test drive, perform correction as part of wheel alignment and fit steering wheel such that it is straight.

=> Running Gear, Axles, Steering; Repair Group 44; Wheel alignment

  • ‒ If steering wheel is straight when performing test drive, bring vehicle to a halt from straight ahead position.

Make sure steering wheel position is not altered. Leave ignition on.

  • ‒ Check zero position compensation using function 08 "Reading measured value block" , Display group number 4.
  • ● Start by implementing function 11 "Login procedure" with fault reader V.A.G 1551/52 .

  • ‒ Press keys 0 and 4 to select "Starting basic setting" function.

  • ‒ Confirm entry with Q key.

  • ‒ Press keys 0, 6 and 0.
  • ‒ Confirm entry with Q key.
  • ‒ ABS warning lamp -K47 flashes.
 
→ Adjacent display indicates that login procedure has not been successfully implemented.

→ Adjacent display indicates that measured values are not within ±15° range permitted for zero position compensation.

1. Interrogate fault memory (function 02).

2. Erase fault memory (function 05).

3. End output (function 06).

4. Switch off ignition.

5. Switch on ignition.

6. Perform zero position compensation again.

  • ‒ Press ⇒ key.

  • ‒ Press keys 0 and 6 to end output.
