Procedure
l  Gear actuator fitted
l  Hose/pipe assemblies connected and all connectors plugged in
l  Transportation safeguard bolt -arrow- removed from lever in top part of gear actuator

l  Sealing washers -arrows 1- intact
l  No play at ball heads -arrows 2- of selector rod
  Note
t  The gearbox selector finger is not to be moved when checking the play.
t  If play is found, renew selector rod with ball heads and sealing washers.
t  Play at the selector rod may lead to termination of basic setting in the „vehicle self-diagnosis“ routine.
t  Play at the selector rod could damage the gearbox.
–  Check the fluid level in the reservoir for the clutch mechanism and selector mechanism and replenish the fluid → Booklet809.

–  Remove the noise insulation -arrows-.

l  Gearbox in neutral.
–  Unfasten the nut -arrow- by roughly 2 turns until the ball head in the selector finger -1- moves freely.
–  Switch on the ignition and shift the selector lever to position „N“.
l  The ball head in the selector finger is then moved into position by the gear actuator.
–  Tighten the nut -arrow- in this position, taking care not to alter the position of the selector rod -2- and the ball end.
–  Check the fluid level in the hydraulic system again and top up the fluid → Booklet809.
–  Perform basic setting in the „vehicle self-diagnosis“ routine → Rep. gr.01.
